Anyone started it?

I'm about fifteen pages in. Am finding all the characters quite confusing actually, I keep forgetting who is who. For the first few pages he seems to have introduced us to an awful lot of people instead of the usual piece-meal approach which I have to say I find more manageable.

Get past the first chapter and the onslaught of new characters eases somewhat.

We have a group at Droitwich Library (Worcestershire) and read Pamuk's 'Snow' a couple of months ago...that was tough to get into too! And generally the group either didn't finish it or didn't like it (not sure whether the translation was part of the problem though...), but boy did we have a good discussion!

Would be interested to know if anyone in your group has read any more of Pamuk's work - have 'Istanbul' on my bedside table ready to read next! If I can gather the strength:)
